Cohort-based Course

Buying a company is a proven path to autonomy and wealth. Learn the methods and skills to succeed.

Course overview

Learn the primary methods and skills needed to buy a company

The current culture around entrepreneurship focuses almost exclusively on starting a company or joining a startup. But what if you could become a business owner without the struggle of starting from scratch?

Entrepreneurship Through Acquisition (ETA) offers the autonomy and wealth creation of entrepreneurship with lower risk. Investors can be used to fund the acquisition, meaning you don't need significant personal capital to participate in ETA.

In this three week course, you'll learn the major ETA models, such as search funds and self-funded search. You'll understand the skills and capital needed to participate in each method, and you'll gain a clear understanding of the potential financial upside of each method.

Sessions are highly interactive, and each student will be placed in an Accountability Group to help ensure follow-through during and after the course.

Chris Tyler

I've always wanted to take the leap to entrepreneurship, but being a startup founder wasn't right for me. I never landed on an idea I was passionate about, and I didn't want the grind of starting from scratch.

When I learned about Entrepreneurship Through Acquisition (ETA), I was intrigued and also overwhelmed by the different methods. Should I raise a search fund? Start a software holdco?

I spent six months learning the different ETA methods, and in June 2023 I left my job at Meta and raised a search fund.

I created this course to help people shortcut the six months I spent digesting the options in the ETA world. I'm passionate about helping people clarify their entrepreneurial vision and choose the right Entrepreneurship Through Acquisition model for their skills and interests.
